Alan Stamm is a veteran Detroit journalist who worked for most of his career at The Detroit News as a copy editor, assistant national editor and assistant metro editor. A Manhattan native and graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communication, he also has worked at the Syracuse New Times and the Bergen (N.J.) Record.

Since 2003, Stamm has been a marketing communication consultant. He was a Birmingham Patch columnist and freelance contributor to Patch news sites in Metro Detroit from 2010-12. He blogs about media and marketing at Alan's Alley, and lives in Birmingham with his wife.
