Detroit school teachers got good news Tuesday.
The Detroit Public Schools' state-appointed emergency manager, Jack Martin, nixed plans to cut teacher pay by 10 percent and increase class sizes -- moves considered to help offset a $127-million budget deficit.
Teachers and parents sharply criticized the cuts and the bigger classrooms.
The 10 percent cut was to apply to all teachers and administrators Oct. 1.
