As puzzling stories go, this one is pretty darn puzzling.

Fox 2's Maurielle Lue reports that a father in a military uniform was denied access to Rochester Adams High School because of his uniform.  The father was going to the school to talk to his daughter's counselor about her schedule.

Lt. Col. Colonel Sherwood Baker, who has served in the Army for 24 years, reportedly was told by school security that he would have to go home and change if he wanted to get in the school. He was told the uniform might offend some students, Baker's wife Rachel Ferhadson tells Fox 2.

Rochester Schools Supt. Robert Shaner, a veteran, apologized to the family.

In a statement to Fox 2, Shaner says: "The district has apologized for any perception that individuals in uniform are not welcome in the school. The district does not have a policy excluding individuals in uniform and will be working with administration and the firm that handles our security to make sure district policies are understood and communicated accurately."
