A feud between a father and son turned deadly in Clinton Township Sunday night.

Nathaniel Burks, 50, allegedly shot his son in the head during a dispute, Mitch Hotts of The Macomb Daily reports. Nathaniel Burks Jr., ended up at  Detroit Receiving Hospital, where his condition was unknown.  The paper reports he  was responsive when first responders arrived.

The paper reports that the father told police his son came to his house on 14 Mile Road west of Gratiot Avenue and the two argued on the porch.

Minutes later, Hotts writes, Burks allegedly pulled out a gun and fired while his son was in a car in the driveway.

“There was a domestic dispute between the father and the son,” police Capt. Richard Maierle tells the paper. “The father says the son was going to shoot him, but we don’t know that the son had a gun.”
