Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert, testifying in Detroit's bankruptcy hearing Wednesday, said blight is "like a cancer" that is the city's top challenge, according to The Detroit News.
Gilbert says unemployment, crime and poor education can't be fixed until blight is eliminated, Robert Snell reports.
"You have to remove it all and be aggressive over a short period of time, otherwise it's going to continue to grow," says Gilbert, who serves on a blight task force.
