A U.S. Steel employee died when a tractor-trailer truck from ALCO Transportation at U.S. Steel's Ecorse plant struck her, the News-Herald reports.

Saturday's incident is being investigated as a homicide, Jessica Strachan reports in The News-Herald. The driver is in custody and expected to be charged, the Southgate paper adds.

The article has no other details, such as whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

Heather Warren, 41, of  Inkster, reportedly was directing trucks in a loading area at about 1 p.m. when a truck backed into her, killing her instantly, according to her sister, Sheryl Warren.

“She was spotting a truck while another truck was waiting," Warren tells the paper.  "He backed up, he didn’t see my sister and he ran her over. She was pinned between two semitrucks. She worked on the floor sometimes, but also had an office. This was not part of her regular job. I don’t even think she was trained for this.”
