It wasn't meant to be.
Joshua Davis, a graduate of Berkley High School (Class of '95) and Michigan State University, who was among the final four contestants in the bid to be champion of "The Voice," came in third Tuesday night.
Davis, 37, who now lives in Traverse City, was being coached by Maroon 5's Adam Levine. His competitors included Meghen Linsey, who has coach Blake Shelton; and Sawyer Fredericks and Koryn Hawthorne, who works with coach Pharrell Williams.
Fredericks, 16, was the winner.
Afterward, Davis posed with Fredericks (right). He also posted this on Facebook before the winner was announced:
It was an honor to work with each and every person here. I'm so very grateful for your support and all the incredible work you put into #DavisNation and so excited for what the future holds for us.
For my family, friends new and old and for our growing community. We love you! We did it!
