If you're wondering how real estate in downtown Detroit is appreciating, look no further than this.

Kirk Pinho of Crain's Detroit Business reports that Dan Gilbert recently paid $18 million for David Stott building at 1150 Griswold St. (pictured) and Clark Lofts building at 35 W. Grand River.

Gilbert owns more than 75 properties — including buildings and parking decks — in and around downtown Detroit, Crain's reports.
