While they were in Toronto last weekend for a forgettable Tigers-Jays series, Justin Verlander and favorite companion Kate Upton played tourists with a walk on the high side.
Between games, the two daredevils slipped into jumpsuits, safety harnesses and looked down at Ontario's capital city from 1,168 feet. The celebrity thrill-seekers stepped outside a CN Tower observation deck to enjoy a vertigo-inviting "extreme urban adventure" called Edgewalk.
The experience costs $195 (Canadian), plus tax, and clearly was more exciting for them than what happened Friday through Sunday at the Rogers Centre ballpark. (The Tigers lost 5-3, 15-1 and 9-2.)
And hey, who can begrudge 32-year-old JV and his 23-year-old girlfriend a chance to step out after he came close to a no-hitter and give up just one earned run over his last 29 innings, right?
Even the often-caustic Detroit Sports Rag blogger comments good-naturedly:
These pics are much more palatable when JV is pitching the like old JV. https://t.co/4QPV4kDXjA
