Food critic Sylvia Rector, who has been covering food at the Detroit Free Press since 1998, and seemed to have her finger on the pulse of the local caloric landscape, is among the latest group at the paper taking buyouts, Crain's Detroit Business reports.

Patricia Montemurri, a veteran who focused on religion and human interest stories will also take the buyout, along with general assignment reporter Cassandra Spratling, photographer Julian Gonzalez, picture editor Diane Weiss and sports writer Steve Schrader, Bill Shea reports.
