A national women's group plans to have a plane fly a banner over Crisler Center in Ann Arbor on Saturday during the Michigan-Michigan State basketball game attacking Gov. Rick Snyder.

The group, UltraViolet, said the banner  -- "SNYDER POISONED KIDS IN FLINT @ULTRAVIOLET" --  will fly over the arena from noon until 3 p.m.

"Gov. Snyder knew that Flint's water was poisoned for at least a year," says Shaunna Thomas, co-founder of UltraViolet, in a statement. "He shipped in bottled water for state employees, all while ignoring the concerns of Flint’s worried, mostly poor and black, residents.  His actions have resulted in more than 10,000 children and pregnant women being exposed to dangerously toxic levels of lead that will cause severe brain, nervous system and liver damage that will haunt them for the rest of their lives. It is time that all Michigan residents -- Spartans and Wolverines alike -- stand up and demand that Governor Snyder resign immediately.”

UltraViolet describes itself as an online community of more than 700,000 women and men who want to take collective action to expose and fight sexism in the public sector, private sector and the media. It was created in 2012 and operates on donations.

Nita Chaudhary, another co-founder, tells Deadline Detroit that the organization has gathered more than 32,000 signatures urging Snyder to resign. The governor "turned his back on those who needed him most," she said.
