It looks like the Detroit police have danced their way into the nation's heart.

The Detroit Police Department has received hundreds of job inquiries after posting video Monday of their officers dancing around iconic city spots like Comerica Park and the Joe Louis fist, according to a Fox 2 report.  The department filmed the clip as part of the Running Man dance challenge, inspired by two teenagers who appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show. Since then, other organizations have produced similar dance videos.

Detroit Police first posted the video on Monday night, and before long, it went viral. As of 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, the video has 5.5 million views.

In the last 10 seconds of the video, the department encourages people to apply for jobs.

"Other departments are doing it and we were like, we have a lot of talent in the city," officer David Mayes, who helped organize the dance, tells Fox 2. "So why not all collaborate and do something amazing."
