What a difference several decades makes.

Brush Park, which fell on hard times for many decades, and was once well-known as a thriving red light district, can now be a pretty pricey place to live, as it was a century ago.

Robin Runyan of Curbed Detroit first reported that a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 1,640-square-foot condo inside an old Victorian mansion at  291 Edmund Place is selling for $460,000. The home was built in 1911 and is a couple blocks from Comerica Park and Ford Field.

The home is listed on Redfin, which says:

Historic mansion, turned luxury condo in Brush park, now available for sale, at $460,000. Come see the beauty of this restored home, with 12' ceilings and mahogany pocket doors, once the family estate of one of Detroit's most prominent bankers of the early 20th century.

Large, multi level private deck and firepit, wine cellar, wood trim and downdraft Jenn Air gas range, exposed brick and custom tile in bathrooms, hardwood throughout all common areas. Just a couple of blocks from Ford Field and the M-1. Private garage comes with the property. 2 beds, 2.5 baths, 1600 sf, water and heat included.

Homeowner association dues are $420 monthly.
