April 24, 2017, 5:58 PM

The FBI was was out in full force on Monday during a raid of a Redford Police detective's home in Canton, Fox 2 reports. But it's unclear why.

The home belongs to detective Kevin Reif who has previously been assigned to both the Western Wayne County auto theft unit and the Mochigan State Police southeast auto theft team, reports Amy Lange.

Agents left with  boxes, a computer, bags of evidence and a safe.

The station reports:

Reif said he assumed it was around the 'salvage stuff' but would not elaborate on what that meant. At least one other officer - Michigan State Police Trooper Seth Swanson - was locked up after stealing $170,000 in salvage vehicle inspection fees.
