Boutique hotels are popping up in downtown Detroit at a fast clip.

The Detroit Foundation Hotel, with 100 rooms, recently opened inside the former Detroit Fire Department headquarters at 250 W. Larned. Shinoa is building a 130-room hotel at 1400 Woodward that's set to open in 2018. Then there's The Siren, a 106-room hotel scheduled to debut in the Fall on Broadway.

The Siren, which is being built in the old Wurlitzer Building and neighboring 1515 Broadway building, will house seven restaurants and bars, developer ASH NYC revealed this past week, according to Brenna Houck of Eater Detroit:

The projects include a restaurant and a separate cocktail bar developed by two Eater Young Guns alums — chef Garrett Lipar and bartender Dorothy Elizabeth — on the ground floor of the of the building. Bay City-based roaster Populace Coffee will also open a separate full-scale cafe in the hotel’s lobby.
