The Little Caesars Arena on Woodward Avenue, just north of the Fisher Freeway, sets a record before opening.

Olympia Entertainment announces that the arena, which will host the Red Wings, Pistons and concerts, will have a seamless, 5,100-square-foot center hung scoreboard, the largest of its kind in the world.

The display lets video programming wrap around and create a 360-degree experience, the Red Wings organization says on its site.

"Fans seated in the ends of the arena will experience the same size display as those seated on Little Caesars Arena sidelines, an amenity that few other arenas offer today,"  Tom Wilson, president and CEO of Olympia Entertainment, says in a statement.
