You can't help but hate the character British actor Will Poulter plays in "Detroit," the new feature film aboiut the Detroit 1967 riot and police brutality at the annex of the Algiers Motel on Woodward Avenue in the Virginia Park area.
Poulter, a 24-year-old from London, plays an evil, racist cop named "Krauss," and manages to sound local redneck. His distinct English accent is nowhere to be found.
Dave Morales of the entertainment site BackstageOL talks to Poulter about challenges of the role.
Director Kathryn Bigelow's film opens Friday nationwide. It began showing at a limited number of theaters nationwide last Friday, including two in Metro Detroit.
