Thieves Keep Breaking into Popular Midtown Detroit Businesses

August 15, 2017, 8:40 AM

Six Midtown sites have been burglarized in the past six weeks and owners say they've heard of no arrests.

Spots hit are the Traffic Jam and Snug, Selden Standard, Midtown Zef's Coney, Union Street, the Midtown Liquor store, and Pie- Sci pizza, reports Fox 2's Hannah Saunders.

The owner of Pie-Sci Pizza on Trumbull says his place has been broken into by the same person three times in the past month. The first time, the suspect found money. Now, the owner says he no longer stores cash when shut.

"We don't keep money in the restaurant, I don't know why he keeps coming back," Jeremy Damaske, the owner, tells Fox 2. "It's the same individual of him coming in all three times. I'm just really sick of replacing glass at this point."

Some victims post videos of the break-ins.
