Stephen Ross, billionaire real estate estate developer, alumnus and owner of the Miami Dolphins, has donated $50 million to University of Michigan.
The latest donation brings his grand total of lifetime giving to $378 million.
Most of the new gift will support career development programs for students, innovative action-based learning experiences such as student-run investment funds and new business ventures and resources for attracting and developing junior faculty, the university said in a press release.
Ross is the university's single largest donor. Forbes magazine pegs his net worth at $12 billion.
