Update, 2:50 p.m. Friday:  After fires hit two motorcycle clubs this week -- one in Detroit on Tuesday and one Friday in Lyon Township -- some wondered if there was a feud bubbling over.

But Chris Page, chapter president of the Scorpions Motorcycle Club, tells The Detroit News that there's no feud under way. Instead, he suggests the fire in Lyon Township was result of a failed robbery.

"They tried to get our big safe," Page says. "They worked on it for awhile and then gave up."

Original article, Friday morning:

A coincidence or is some kind of war going on?

A large fire hit Scorpions Motorcycle Club Friday morning in Lyon Township three days after the Street Royalty Motorcycle Club burned to the ground at about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday on Dexter Avenue near Webb in west Detroit, Robert Allen of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Scorpions Club, a barn on Milford Road between 11 Mile and 12 Mile roads, was being consumed by massive flames, but no injuries were immediately reported, WDIV reports.  A stretch of Milford Road was closed Friday morning.

Detroit authorities are looking into whether Tuesday's blaze was arson. The cause of Friday morning's blaze has yet to be determined.
