Detroit Tigers' slugger Miguel Cabrera sucked big-time in 2017, ending with a .249 batting average Fans and sports writers tried all season long to figure out why.
Some speculated that his home of Venezuela was in turmoil and that he was paying extortion money for protection for his mother. Then recently news surfaced that a woman in Florida, who claimed to have two children from him, was suing him for bigger child support payments.
Now, comes this news: Miggy's wife of 15 years filed for divorce just prior to the start of the 2017 baseball season, reports Tony Paul of The Detroit News.
Rosangel Cabrera filed the dissolution-of-marriage paperwork March 17, saying the relationship is “irretrievably broken,” and Cabrera agreed in his response dated April 18, the News reports, citing court documents from the Miami-Dade County Civil, Family and Probate Courts system.
A final hearing is Monday in Miami.
