A fire destroyed the popular Wiseguys Bar & Grill on Garfield Road in Clinton Township Sunday morning, and the owners said they will "absolutely, 100 percent" rebuild, reports Mitch Hotts of The Macomb Daily.

Jim Wise and his wife, Laura, who also own a second bar on Harper Avenue, are concerned about employees this holiday season. "Garfield is our baby," Laura Wise told the paper, fighting back tears. “Our kids work there. Our employees often come to our house. We truly are one big family."

Clinton Township Fire Deputy Chief Randy Kandt said foul play is not suspected.

A number of competing businesses -- such as Dooleys, Jamboozies Sports Bar & Grill, M’s Table + Bar, and Mirage Banquet Center -- responded via social media with possible openings for servers, bartenders and kitchen help.

Also, Roger’s Roost sports bar on Schoenherr Road in Sterling Heights will donate half of its proceeds Sunday night to the displaced staff, according to Brian Majewski, a manager at Roger’s Roost.

A GoFundMe page is been set up:

As many of you know the beloved Wiseguys Bar & Grill caught fire early Sunday morning and everything was lost as well as the roof caving in. All of you that know the Wise family know that this is single handedly one of the most kind hearted and generous families that anyone could ever cross paths with.

This entire family would give the shirts off their backs for any one of us and i cant even begin to fathom why such a tragic accident would happen to such an amazing family especially at this time of the year. From the way they treat their staff to the way they treat any person that walks through the doors of their establishments they never fail to make it feel like home for every single person.

So many of us have incredible memories at this bar and I would love nothing more than to help the family get it back up and running as fast as we possibly can. I know that the Wise family would never outreach for help but we all know that if this ever happened to anyone else in the community they would be the first ones there offering help.

I understand that it is very close to the holidays but anything that anyone can help donate at this time will help make a difference for the family and all of their staff that is now without income at this time. Please find it in your hearts to do what you can so we can help get our neighborhood bar back as soon as possible! Thank you so much!!!
