Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert announced good news on Wednesday night about his son Nick Gilbert, 21, who had major surgery in mid-February to treat a brain tumor.
After 38 days in the hospital, he tweeted that his son has returned home. Nick Gilbert was born with neurofibromatosis, commonly referred to as NF, a nerve disorder that causes tumors to grow anywhere in the body at any time. One out of 3,000 people on average is born with it.
No words strong enough to thank Dr. Ian Lee & Dr. Steve Kalkanis along with the entire Henry Ford Hospital’s leading-edge neurosurgeon team whose innovative approaches are winning the fight vs brain tumors including my son Nick, who after 38 days came home today! @HenryFordNews
