A labor strike focusing on wages, which began April 5, has continued to keep the doors closed at Caesars Windsor Casino on the other side of the river.

Now, Caesars Windsor has canceled shows and hotel bookings for the rest of May, reports The Detroit News. This is the third time the casino has announced a string of cancellations since the work stoppage began.

The casino posts on Facebook:

Due to the ongoing labour disruption and temporary closure, Caesars Windsor is making the difficult yet necessary decision to cancel hotel reservations and postpone Total Rewards promotions scheduled for the remainder of May. Additionally, Pitbull (May 25), Lee Brice (May 26) and Daniel O’Donnell (May 27) shows have been postponed.

Things don't look promising.

The two sides are no closer to resolving their dispute than when negotiations broke off April 18, and no talks are scheduled, the News reports.

The casino has offered a wage increase of $1.75 per hour over three years to the 1,345 full-time workers and 567 part-time employees. The casino also offered a signing bonus of $1,150 to full-time workers and $900 to part-timers.

Unifor Local 444 declines to say what it asks for.

The closed casino can only spell good news for the three Detroit casinos.
