Downtown Detroit Gets World's First Combination IHOP/Applebee's Restaurant

Ok, so we're not talking gourmet dining here. It's not one of new joints in downtown or Midtown Detroit that serve pricey, petite entres with over-priced cocktails.

It's affordable dining, and downtown Detroit can certainly use another weekend breakfast joint.

So, here we have the world’s first combination IHOP/Applebee’s restaurant at the base of the Millender Center, next to the Courtyard by Marriott Detroit Downtown hotel on Jefferson, across from the RenCen, reports Brenna Houck of Eater Detroit.

The restaurant began limited service for breakfast-only this week at the base of the Millender Center next to the Courtyard by Marriott Detroit Downtown hotel, Houck reports.

The signs surrounding the new restaurant says IHOP currently opens from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, the location was hosting open calls for job applicants to help run the hybrid restaurant, Houck reports.
