A Belle Isle Lover Asks Charles Pugh About The Piles Of Trash That Linger For Days

Tom Henderson of Crain's Detroit Business takes a personal approach to the issue of whether Belle Isle should become a state park.

"When I stick my nose into the city's business when it comes to Belle Isle, it's not theoretical," he writes. 

"If Belle Isle could use a helping hand — and it can — and it's the city's so-called jewel, think how much help the other parks, the ones that aren't jewels, could use. The help City Council doesn't want them to get because it doesn't want Belle Isle workers reassigned."
