About four months ago, Troy City Manager Brian Kishnick was fired from his $161,000 job following allegations of domestic violence and questionable expenses.
Now federal authorities in Detroit charge him with bribery and taking more than $20,000 from a city contractor, Robert Snell of The Detroit News reports.
“Through his criminal and unethical behavior, Mr. Kischnick has victimized residents, taxpayers, city employees and city council,” City Manager Mark Miller said in a statement. “The city is moving forward with employees that meet the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity.”
Kishnick, 50, had come under scrutiny by the city for questionable expenses that included thousands of dollars on personal meals, pricey cellphone accessories he passed out as gifts to workers, and passes he arranged that permitted selected nonresidents and their families to use city recreational facilities.

He was charged July 6 in a filing called a criminal information, indicating he's likely to plead guilty.
