The Tigers have had high hopes for pitcher Daniel Norris ever since acquiring him in July 2015, along with Matt Boyd and Jairo Labourt from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for lefthanded pitcher David Price.

But he's been uneven over time, not to mention he's bee plagued by injuries.

Well, it's been four months since he suited up and worked out of the Tigers clubhouse. Now, he's set to pitch Saturday at 4:05 p.m. against the Yankees in New York, reports Lynn Henning of The Detroit News. He'd been out with a groin injury that required surgery.

"Just happy to be here," Norris tells The News Friday. "It's definitely been an interesting year. I didn't know if I would pitch again this year."

He last pitched April 29 against Baltimore.
