In downtown and Midtown Detroit, powered scooters seemingly are everywhere.
Now, the city of Detroit has capped the number of scooters at 300 per ride-sharing company, the Detroit Free Press reports.
So far, two companies, Bird Rides and Lime are in the market. A third company, San Francisco-based Spin, tells JC Reindl of the Detroit Free Press that it is preparing to enter the Detroit market.
Reindl reports:
This restriction could frustrate some weekend sightseers as well as downtown-area residents and workers who have come to rely on finding nearby Birds and Limes for their rush-hour work commutes and just getting around. But non-riders who consider the scooter craze annoying may appreciate the cap.
