The Larry Nassar case continues to generate publicity. Christine Blahsey Ford, who in September testified that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh had assaulted her when they were both teenagers, recorded a video introduction for Rachael Denhollander at an awards banquet this week.

Sports Illustrated magazine named Denhollander its "Inspiration of the Year," and Ford -- who's still in semi-hiding due to blowback and threats from Kavanaugh supporters, published reports say -- recorded her introduction at the ceremony.

Denhollander, as those following the case know, was the catalyst for the criminal investigation that brought down Nassar, the Michigan State University doctor and athletic trainer who sexually abused hundreds of young girls and women over the course of his career. Although other women had accused Nassar of abusing them in the course of what he called medical treatments, Denhollander's was the spark that lit the fire that finally stopped him.

The Free Press posts Ford's remarks:

"Rachael Denhollander, I am in awe of you, and I will always be inspired by you. In stepping forward, you took a huge risk and you galvanized future generations to come forward, even when the odds are seemingly stacked against them. The lasting lesson is that we all have the power to create real change, and we cannot allow ourselves to be defined by the acts of others."

It's her first public statement since her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Kavanaugh was approved by a full Senate vote shortly thereafter, and now holds a lifetime appointment to the nation's highest court.
