Fox News reports John James, a failed U.S. Senate candidate from Michigan, is "the leading candidate" to replace Heather Nauert as UN ambassador, according to a source familiar with the discussions. This after CNN reported yesterday that James is merely "a" leading candidate.
Fox says:
The source said James . . . has expressed interest in the position to the White House. The belief among Trump's inner circle is that James is a rising political superstar, and the U.N. post could provide him with a pathway into elected office. White House officials also confirmed to Fox News that James is under consideration.
James is a Trump loyalist with zero foreign policy experience beyond serving in Iraq.
He fell to Michigan U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow 52-46 last fall after running a campaign laced with dog whistles for the #MAGA set.
They included an ad featuring a Nazi swastika (James claimed not to know where the symbol came from), an ad accusing Stabenow of supporting "black genocide," and a speech making fun of sexual assault survivors in the midst of the debate over the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. James also took campaign contributions from white supremacists.,
