Tuesday's city hall press conference to announce Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' new assembly plant on Detroit's east side was a lovefest. The packed room on the 11th floor was filled with smiling -- almost giddy -- politicians, UAW members and FCA employees. And oh yes, there were plenty of media.
The deal depends on the city acquiring 200 acres of land for FCA within 60 days, Mayor Mike Duggan said. No easy task. He says he'll be busy in coming weeks trying to make it happen.
Below are 13 photos of elected officials, auto executives, union members and others at the event.
