Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda surprised a Detroit audience Tuesday night when he popped up on stage during the show's run at the Fisher Theatre.
In a live stream, Miranda films himself waiting in the wings after the show, telling viewers to "shhh." He walks out just after a cast member, making a pitch for a charity, tells the crowd: "Well, Lin is not here."
"Yes I am!" Miranda whispers on the video. Then, on stage, to uproarious applause, "What's up, Detroit?"
"I love you Detroit, thank you very much."

Later, Miranda posted a selfie with cast members Edred Utomi (Alexander Hamilton) and Hannah Cruz (Eliza Hamilton).
