Swedish-based H&M, one of the largest international clothing retailers, is set to open Nov. 21 at 1505 Woodward Ave. in downtown Detroit, just in time for holiday shoppers.

It's the largest retailer in Dan Gilbert's Bedrock’s portfolio, with a 25,000 square-foot space spanning three Albert Kahn-designed buildings on the avenue's west side between John R. and Park, according to Bedrock.

“As Bedrock’s largest retail tenant, H&M signals a tipping point for the historic Woodward Shopping District,” Matt Cullen, CEO of Bedrock, gushes in a release. “For the first time in decades, shopping for the whole family is available on our main thoroughfare, and there is much more to come.”

The department store joins a number of big-name retail neighbors, including Nike, Under Armour and Warby Parker.
