Last September, Hill Harper, actor, businessman and U.S. Senate candidate in Michigan, failed to show in a public disclosure report tens of millions of dollars in investment and real estate holdings and income he made from acting jobs and paid speeches to corporations, banks and nonprofit groups, the Detroit News reports.
Last week, the Detroit Democrat, vowing full transparency, filed a revised report with the Senate, showing a fuller picture of his income.

It reveals a fuller picture of his personal wealth, as well as the scope of what he left out four months ago: Nearly all of his personal assets, valued at $12.3 million to $49 million, and at least $3.6 million in income he earned during the reporting period that covered all of 2022 and the first 10 months of 2023.
"Hill Harper’s updated financial disclosure report reveals his employers, paid speeches and assets amounting to many millions of dollars — information voters had a right to know months ago, when this financial report was originally due,” Delaney Marsco, director for ethics at the nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center, a Washington, D.C.-based candidate watchdog group, tells the News.
Harper tells the News that a now-former campaign employee missed an email with a “massive” file that was supposed to get entered into the initial personal financial disclosure data but didn’t.
