Here's a little bit of good news for downtown Detroit.

Moosejaw, an upscale outdoor outfitter, opened a pop-up store this past Christmas season on Woodward in downtown Detroit with the thought of staying open until Dec. 22.

Well, it's January and it's still open.

The Detroit News reporters that the store plans to stay open until at least February and may even become a permanent fixture on the stretch of Woodward which was once desolate for decades.

"We're going to continue to run with it as long as it's successful," Bryan Lively, Moosejaw vice president of retail, told the News. "It's definitely the hope (to open permanently). We want to make sure we continue to see a level of customer traffic."
