The Parade Company and Ford Motor Co. announced Wednesday a partnership for two of the region's largest events — the annual fireworks display and Thanksgiving Day parade, Candice Wiliams reports in the Detroit News.
Ford has committed to a major sponsorship for three years, the company said.
Specifics weren't disclosed, but Jim Vella, president of the Ford Motor Co. Fund, said the company has recently committed more than $10 million to Detroit, including an investment in southwest Detroit.
"This is an opportunity for us to say thank you to everyone in the region," Vella said of the sponsorship. "It's a way of saying thanks to our constituents for letting us make Detroit our hometown for the last 110 years."
