Detroit's long-abandoned, oft-on fire Packard Plant may soon have a new owner. An anonymous minimum bid of $21,000 has been made on the 35-acre property.

Freep: Bidding started today and is scheduled to continue through Oct. 25. The property hit the second-round auction because no one wanted it for $1 million in September. That $1 million price tag represented the property’s back taxes, plus interest.
