Andy Dillon Reportedly To Resign As State Treasurer

Andy Dillon, the former Democratic Speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives, turned appointee in Republican Rick Snyder's administration is expected to step down as state treasurer this afternoon.

WDIV: The official announcement will be made later Friday.

This news comes a day after Dillon was questioned in a deposition for more than three hours in Lansing by lawyers for union workers and retirees opposing Detroit's bankruptcy filing.

After failing to secure his party's nomination for governor in 2010, Dillon endorsed Snyder and was named state treasurer in 2011. He has been instrumental the city of Detroit's emergency manager restructuring process.
