Kirk Pinho of Crain's Detroit Business is trying to figure out just what Dan Gilbert's folks are up to at their building at 1401 Rosa Parks Blvd.
I swung by the 38,000-square-foot industrial warehouse at Rosa Parks and Porter Street on Monday morning, and at least a portion of it is being demolished.
Representatives for Gilbert, who bought it in November for $625,000, wouldn’t say what their plans are for the building.
Pinho writes that Gilbert's Bedrock plans to use the building for a communications center, and writes:
"What that means specifically is still unknown."
Pinho reports that Gilbert bought the building in November from Gasper Fiore, owner of Boulevard and Trumbull or B&T Towing Inc.
