Scary: Jim Jarmusch In Brush Park To Shoot His New Vampire Flick

June 29, 2012, 6:22 AM

Highly regarded indie film director Jim Jarmusch is headed to Detroit to shoot scenes for his new movie,  “Only Lovers Left Alive,” a vampire love story, writes B.J. Hammerstein in the Detroit Free Press.

Deadline Detroit has learned Jarmusch has focused on the Gothic-looking mansions of Brush Park for locations.

Jarmusch is the director of such singular films as “Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai” and 2005’s “Broken Flowers.”

He was spotted downtown Wednesday by a Free Press staffer.

The movie, a centuries-long romantic drama about two vampires, has an impressive cast, including Mia Wasikowska (the star of “Alice in Wonderland”), Tom Hiddleston (Loki in “The Avengers”), Tilda Swinton (“Michael Clayton”), John Hurt (“Alien”) and the just-announced Anton Yelchin (“Fright Night”).
