It's not hard to find people who fawn over the pie at Supino Pizzeria, the little joint in Eastern Market, that's often very packed.

So, it's no wonder folks are anxious to see owner David Mancini's latest creation next door.

David Hall of Crain's Detroit Business Mancini has been renovating the place next door that has had many incarnations that have included a bakery and Ethiopian restaurant. Now, it's slated to become a 1,000-square-foot eatery, La Rondinella, with some traditional Italian offerings.

Halls writes that renovations on the building started in the spring. It was supposed to open in the summer, but now the opening has been pushed off until late January.  -- Allan Lengel
