Michigan State University students did what you might expect them to after the school's football team beat its rival Saturday: They burned couches and flouted social distancing and mask rules.
While it may seem like no one cares about the latter anymore, with daily Covid cases in the state at record highs and government officials watching idly as unmasked crowds gather at Trump rallies, the Ingham County Health Department did issue some guidance it hoped would prevent the scened that unfolded. Outdoor gatherings were limited to ten people ahead of the game and violators were threatened with $500 fines.
