Update: Detroit's Dutch Girl Donuts Reopens Today

Update: 1:40 p.m. Friday:  Dutch Girl Donuts, which posted on social media that it was opening on Saturday morning, instead opened on Friday, according to Fox 2. 

The donut shop opened last Friday and Saturday to hand out free test donuts, then shut down until today.

The shop closed in 2021 in the midst of the pandemic. It was purchased by third-generation funeral director Paddy Lynch.

After giving out free test glazed donuts last Friday and Saturday, Dutch Girl Donuts plans to officially open Saturday at 8 a.m.

The announcement came Wednesday evening on Instagram. 

The legendary shop on Woodward, just south of 7 Mile Road in Detroit, closed in September 2021. Recently, Detroiter and third-generation funeral director Paddy Lynch bought the place.
