Rodney Yeargin, a prominent 29-year-old rapper performing as Doughboy Roc, was fatally shot Monday on Detroit's west side. The solo artist had been in the group Doughboyz Cashout (DBC).
The recording artist was in his white Hyundai near an abandoned field outside a house on Stoepel when somebody shot him, Second Precinct Capt. John Serda tells The Detroit News. Officers found the body about 3:30 p.m.

About a dozen police cars lined up along Livernois as detectives fanned out and a helicopter circled, report George Hunter and Mark Hicks.
In July, rappers Dominique Brown and Ramell Campbell, known as Domo Brown and 47 Mell, respectively, were killed in a drive-by shooting while driving east on Interstate 94 near Livernois. That killing was the result of a feud, police say.
