February 28, 2014, 11:36 AM

Derby Does The King

The Detroit Derby Girls are hosting an Elvis-themed bout this weekend featuring impersonators, a costume contest and a halftime show from a rockabilly punk band named the Devil Elvis Show.

See it on Saturday evening. Get tickets here.

Get A Job

Detroit is hiring 350 people -- police officers, bus drivers, EMTs, mechanics, construction workers, electrical workers, plumbers and other workers.

Bring multiple copies of your resume to the city job fair Saturday and Sunday at Cobo.

Monster Jam!

Watch some big cars crush stuff. The Monster Jam comes to Ford Field this Saturday evening.

See the trucks up close between 2 and 5, then watch the show at 7. Tickets are here.

Fly Away

It's frigid, but there are tiny pockets of spring hiding around this city, like the butterfly exhibit at the Michigan Science Center.

Stand in a room full of these gorgeous creatures during regular hours.

Art And Garbage

Popps Packing in Hamtramck opens a new exhibit this weekend that features black and white photographs that look at the meaning of trash.

Check out "Zen And The Art Of Garbage Hunting" Friday night.
